Southampton City Live! 2017

Vibrant music festival returns to Palmerston Park for 3rd year!

Matt Bunday Events Ltd and Voice FM Radio, working in partnership with Southampton Solent University, are again bringing ‘Southampton City Live!’ to the centre of Southampton in May.  Working with the support of Southampton City Council they will be staging this exciting live music and art event in Southampton’s historic and listed Palmerston Park on Saturday 13rd May 2017 between 12 noon and 9pm.  This will be a free to attend event.

Southampton Solent University students will again be involved in all aspects of this event, from marketing, through production to performance.  We will also be showcasing the work of their creative students through stands and stalls.

In association with SoCo Music Project and the Enham Trust, this event will be undergoing a name change from ‘Bandstand LIVE!’ to ‘Southampton City LIVE!’ to help it build into an even more exciting festival.  Local bands and singers will be offering a variety of music.

Making the festival even bigger for its third year, there will also be other stages to explore and enjoy.  SoCo music project will be putting on new and aspiring musicians in a programme of ‘ SoCo Introducing’ Music, whilst Voice FM will be running the ‘Homegrown’ stage.

The event will offer the full festival experience with local arts and crafts people also coming to showcase their work.   If this sounds like you, then do get in touch with the organisers as stands are still available.

Event Director Matt Bunday says,  “We are very excited to be able to build on the success of 2 years of Bandstand events to turn this festival into something bigger.  Changing the name to ‘Southampton City LIVE! @Bandstand reflects our ambition to continue to grow the festival to make it something that the City can really be proud of.  We plan to make it a place where artists and musicians across Southampton can come and showcase their work and enjoy a great day out!
