Magazine/PR in a Day

Imagine how some of your favourite magazines put together their issues and then throw those ideas out of the window.

That’s the general idea when it comes to Magazine in a Day as you pick a theme for the magazine, create stories, design it all, create social media accounts and put it all together within a day. Crazy right?

A mixture of all music courses that Solent provides come together and create something different and unique. Last years group created a magazine all around gender and sexuality, whereas this year is all about SO:Music City Festival and the aftermath of the campaign attached to it.

The campaign, SO:Music City, is all about supporting local musicians and bands in the hope that they stay within Southampton and not move to the surrounding areas like London, Bristol and Brighton to begin their careers.

The magazine is dedicated to all of the different panels and gigs that happened during the festival and features photo’s of all the bands who played, reviews of the day and features of how important this is to Southampton.

The team also created a podcast, interviewing people involved with the festival and what they thought about the day event.

The idea is that the magazine will be finished by the end of the day so stick close to our social media to see the final product.
