Steve White Drum Clinic – 24th November

Steve White has played with the Style Council and Paul Weller since 1983, as well as leading and/or playing in many other bands and recordings, including (amongst many others) the Jazz Renegades, Galliano, The James Taylor Quartet, Ian Dury, Trio Valore, La Roux and The Family Silver.

The Drum Clinic is free to attend for all Southampton Solent University students (bring your Student ID), and the event starts at 7.00pm in Studio Solent (Millais JM315) on Tuesday 24th November.

Steve is one of the few musicians to have performed at both Live Aid and Live 8, and has garnered the nickname ‘supersub’ for his ability to fill in for others at short notice. As ‘supersub’ he has performed on tour with the likes of Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene.

Alongside this, Steve has built his reputation as an educator and clinician, appearing with many other great performers such as Simon Phillips, Peter Erskine and Chad Smith. He has recently joined the Yamaha artist roster and hopes to be out on a new clinic tour in 2016.

Steve will be awarded the title of Visiting Fellow of Southampton Solent University at the end of his Drum Clinic, and has recently been nominated in the ‘Best Rock Drummer’ category for the Rhythm magazine readers’ poll.
